On Australia Day 2000, 12000 messages from all the Hobsons Bay Schools were installed in a Time Capsule here, at the summit of Mount Truganina. Our Club has submitted a Grant Application for funds to retrieve and return the mini-capsules so the Schools can return the messages to their former students, marking a significant milestone in our community's history.
We plan to extend the impact of this original project by inviting participants to donate copies of their messages, for a curated exhibition of selected messages, and to serve as valuable resources for creating a new virtual (digital) time capsule. This would ensure future generations have access to the rich tapestry of experiences and insights from the start of the new millennium, and into the future.
