In keeping with the theme "REFLECT, RESPECT, CELEBRATE, We are all part of the Story," and supported by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council (NADC), Rotary Altona City staged another successful event at the Central Square Shopping Centre.
Highlights included:
- Three wonderful genres of live music- Traditional Australian songs (Glenrowan Bush Band), Didgeridoo (Paul Kelly) and African Drumming (Newport Drummers);
- Face painting and balloon twisting providing fun and colour for children;
- Showbags containing a variety of gifts such as indigenous designed glasses wipe cloths, gym towels, notebooks, pens and brochures;
- Native seedling giveaways provided by Hobsons Bay Council;
- Refreshment vouchers for four Cafes;
- NADC videos showcasing the diversity of Australia Day Acknowledgements around the Country.
